FAQ
Quick answers to common questions.
What is this?
This is a personal project that tracks who has gotten author medals on Track of the Day maps. You can see player rankings, check your own stats, and browse all TOTD tracks.
What does "This is me" do?
It saves a profile as yours, no account needed. Open your player page and hit "This is me". Your rank then shows up in the header on every page, the leaderboard gets a "Find me" button that jumps straight to your spot, and your row is highlighted in the rankings.
The pin is saved in your browser only, so it won't carry over to other devices and clearing your browser data removes it. You can unpin anytime from your player page.
Where does the data come from?
All data comes from Nadeo's official Trackmania servers. We regularly check for new TOTD maps, leaderboards, and player information.
This project is not affiliated with Nadeo or Ubisoft. Big thanks to Openplanet for their API documentation.
How often does it update?
The site continuously refreshes data throughout the day. Your rankings are recalculated every hour. If something looks out of date, check back in a bit.
How are rankings calculated?
The more author medals you have, the higher you rank. When two players have the same number of medals, we compare how well they placed across their tracks. Your position on each track is measured relative to other authors, and tracks where fewer people have author count for more. So a single easy track with thousands of authors won't overshadow your performance on tougher ones.
Technically, the tiebreaker is a rarity-weighted average percentile. For each of your author medals, we calculate your percentile (position / total authors) and weight it by the track's rarity (1 / √(total authors)). The result is your average relative rank, but tracks with fewer competitors are weighted more heavily — preventing massive tracks from completely dominating your overall score. Lower is better.
Why did my rank change on 2 March 2026?
We updated the ranking system to use the rarity-weighted tiebreaker described above. Previously, players with the same medal count were sorted alphabetically by name, which was meaningless. The new system rewards players who perform well on harder tracks, so you may see a shift in your rank history around this date.
Why might my data be incomplete?
If you have fewer than 20 author medals and your rank is above 10,000, some of your records might be missing. This is a limitation of how we can fetch data from Nadeo's servers.
Also, positions above 10,000 may not be entirely accurate due to the way the leaderboard data works.
